Micro-Epsilon's optoCONTROL 2700 series of precision LED micrometers provide accurate measurements of quantities such as diameter, gap, edge and segment in industrial applications. A new addition to the portfolio is the model with a measuring range of 10 mm, which is specially designed for small objects and enables precise measurements even with objects tilted by up to 45° due to active inclination correction.
With a sampling rate of 15 kHz and a short exposure time of 8.5 µs, this sensor is ideal for measuring vibrating objects. The optoCONTROL 2700-10 also stands out due to its improved linearity, high ambient light resistance and an excellent price-performance ratio.
The optoCONTROL 2700-10 sensor uses a turquoise LED with a wavelength of 508 nm as its light source. This makes it easy to measure red, glowing red and red-hot objects as well as transparent objects made of glass, such as glass edges in web edge control or glass wafers, and also organic surfaces. Typical applications include diameter measurement for extruded products, inline contour measurement for turned parts, and wire measurement during wire drawing.
The LED micrometer can be easily configured via a user-friendly web interface that is accessible via Ethernet. An analog output, RS422 and Ethernet are available for integration into existing infrastructures. Users can also use PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP.
Advantages at a glance:
- Very high linearity up to ≤ 0.25 µm
- Large distance between transmitter and receiver (large distance from the target)
- Roller gap measurement below 50 µm possible
- Measurement of transparent objects
- Measurement of ultra-fine wires and glass fibers (also with high vibration)
- Extremely resistant to interference such as ambient light
